The home side sits as 7.5-point favourites on the NBA odds – about what the Dinos were on Tuesday.

Hornets vs. Raptors NBA Betting Odds

Thursday concludes the Toronto portion of the season series, with the Raptors playing back-to-back games in Charlotte on April 2 & 4. Maybe Hornets owner Michael Jordan will attend one?

The Dinos are looking for their first three-game winning streak of the season, which seems hard to believe. This is the fourth baseball-type series for Toronto. It split two games in Miami on Oct. 22 (lost) & 24 (won), split two at home vs. Philadelphia on Oct. 26 (won) and 28 (lost), and lost two in Orlando on Dec. 9 & 11. Charlotte has played one of these prior, getting swept in Miami on Nov. 10 & 12.

Charlotte leads the all-time series 47-43, but Toronto is 28-19 as the home team and has taken the past four, with the total going over in each.

Charlotte Hornets

We projected the Hornets to lose 118-112 on Tuesday at Scotiabank Arena but it was 132-120 – Charlotte can score with anyone but is horrific on defence. The Hornets shot a stellar 54.7 per cent overall and 42.9 from deep but were crushed on the boards. Mason Plumlee continued his career season in shooting 9-for-10 from the field for 21 points with seven rebounds. Over the last two weeks, he’s averaging 16.7 points on whopping 78 per cent from the field along with 11.1 rebounds. Terry Rozier had 33 points, and former NBA Rookie of the Year LaMelo Ball 24 points and 14 assists for his ninth double-double of the season.

Charlotte played again without the injured Kelly Oubre Jr. and Gordon Hayward. Hayward has missed the past four but might return for this one. Charlotte is 3-1-1 ATS in its past five following a double-digit loss.

Toronto Raptors

The biggest reason Toronto won Tuesday was hitting a season-high 20 three-pointers on 44 attempts – the Dinos outscored the Hornets by 15 points behind the arc. Toronto improved to 8-0 this season when shooting 40 per cent or greater from downtown. The Raptors outrebounded Charlotte 49-35, and 18 of those boards were on the offensive end. That led to a plus-16 advantage (20-4) in second-chance points, and the Raptors rank third in the NBA in second-chance points (16.8) and fourth in offensive rebounding (12.6). Pascal Siakam had 28 points, eight rebounds and seven assists, Gary Trent Jr. chipped in 24 points and OG Anunoby 22. Precious Achiuwa (13 points) and Chris Boucher (12 points, seven rebounds) played well off the bench. Toronto is 3-7 ATS in its past 10 at home.
