Miami will look to extend its dominance against the spread when it faces off with Golden State on Wednesday at the Chase Center. in a meeting of the last two teams to lose in the NBA Finals. The Heat have covered eight of the last 10 head-to-head encounters between the teams, and Miami would love that trend to continue as they seek to end a two-game losing skid. The Warriors have won three of their last four and are coming off a 129-98 drubbing of Cleveland, their last time out.

NBA Point Spread and Betting Analysis

This game will likely settle close to a pick ‘em, which is heavy praise for a Heat team that has gone just 4-9 straight up, on the road so far this season. Miami has covered in just three of its past 12 games overall, and is a dismal 9-17-1 ATS so far in 2020-21. The Warriors are 14-14 ATS on the year but have been slightly better at home (9-7) than on the road (5-7). That said, Golden State is just 2-5 ATS in its last seven games vs. the Eastern Conference.

The total for this one should come in around 224, which will mark just the second time in nine games that Golden State has seen a number south of 225. The Warriors have cashed the Under in four of their previous five games overall, and are an identical 4-1 to the Under in their last five home games. Miami is also trending in that direction with a 2-5 O/U record in its past seven contests, with five games in that span seeing totals of 217 or lower.

Miami Heat

The Heat have struggled to find the form that saw them march to an NBA Finals appearance last fall. And it isn’t difficult to understand why: Miami simply hasn’t been able to handle the league’s upper echelon. The Heat come into Wednesday’s encounter having gone just 1-10 against teams above .500 so far this season, the second-worst record in that situation among East teams. Miami was 17-14 SU against teams with winning records last year.

Golden State Warriors

The Warriors might be clinging to the No. 8 spot in the Western Conference for the time being, but they’re in a similar boat as the Heat. Golden State is just 5-11 SU against teams with records of .500 or better – and with the West’s top teams looking far superior to those in the East so far, improving that record will be critical to the Warriors’ success. On the plus side: The Warriors are 10-2 against teams below .500, and the Heat fall into that category.
