The Memphis Grizzlies have picked up 11 straight wins and counting. This group is flying high right now and earned one of their best wins against the Cleveland Cavaliers on Wednesday. Los Angeles Lakers are struggling lately, so Memphis could keep their impressive stretch going.

The Lakers fell for the fourth time in their past five tries against the Kings most recently, with the only success during that span coming against the the lowly Houston Rockets. Even in that win, they still allowed 132 points.

The oddsmakers have set the Grizzlies as -7 favourites on said NBA odds.

Grizzlies vs. Lakers NBA Betting Odds

The Grizzlies have covered four straight on the road and have a 6-0-1 ATS record in their last seven games played on a Friday. As for the total, the over has cashed in their last eight games overall. It’s also hit in four of their last eight when coming off a straight-up win.

Meanwhile, the Lakers are 7-3 ATS in their last 10 games overall and 4-1 ATS in their last five when coming off a straight-up loss in the previous matchup. When it comes to their total, the under has hit in four of their last five. It’s also cashed out in four of their last five when going up against teams with a winning percentage over .600 on the year.

Memphis Grizzlies

Led by Ja Morant, the Grizzlies are rolling both offensively and defensively. This 11-game winning streak has helped them fly upwards in the standings and statistically. They currently average the fifth-most points per game this season and hold their opponents to the eighth-fewest. Having a team that can perform this well on either end of the floor is a scary thing to go up against in the NBA.

Morant has been picking up right where he left off last year. He’s averaging 27.4 points, 5.6 rebounds, and 7.9 assists per game. If the Grizzlies keep on winning as they have been, don’t be surprised to hear Morant in the MVP conversation soon enough. He’s gotten tremendous help from the role players of the roster but without Morant, this team isn’t nearly as good.

Los Angeles Lakers

The Lakers continue to be a disappointment. Some of their inconsistency can be pinned to their injuries, maybe coaching, or simply the way that their roster has been compiled. Regardless of the issue, there are clearly more problems than solutions in Los Angeles. They will have their work cut out for them at home against Memphis. They’ll have to figure out a method to victory without Anthony Davis available as he still rehabs his foot injury.

To make matters worse, LeBron James is listed as day-to-day. He’s expected to play, but it’s never good to see a superstar listed on the injury report. LeBron’s scoring has been a key factor in them overcoming their 27th-ranked defense. Their porous defence might kill their chances against a hot Grizzlies offense.
