The Warriors lost last night in Denver, capping off a disastrous four-game road trip against four Western playoff teams. The Clippers had won five straight games before getting blown out at home by the New York Knicks Sunday.

For the first time in months, the Warriors are out of the top two spots in the West as their 43-22 record has them a half game behind Memphis. The Clippers are 34-32 and in eighth place.

Tip-off at Chase Center is set for 10 p.m. EST, with the Warriors a 5.5-point favourite to win and the over-under at 222 on the NBA odds.

Los Angeles is on a run against the spread, covering in seven of their last nine outings. Head-to-head it’s also been the Clippers covering in six of their last seven visits to the Bay Area. The Warriors are cold as can be against the spread, failing to cover in six straight and going 2-9 ATS in their last 11 overall.

Tuesday’s the final of four regular season meetings between these clubs. Golden State is 2-1 in the season series but the Clippers took their last bout on Feb. 14, defeating the Warriors by 15.

Los Angeles Clippers

Los Angeles’ shooting went cold in their defeat against the Knicks Sunday. The Clippers shot 37.5 per cent from the field and 32.4 per cent from three as they scored 40 points in the first half. Amir Coffey’s 16 points off the bench led the team as the Clippers’ five starters combined for 36 points and shot 14 for 51 from the field. The Clippers got outrebounded 57-43 too.

L.A. leading-scorer Paul George began shooting with his right hand over the weekend — George has been out since Dec. 22 with a right elbow injury. No return date has been announced for George yet. He and Norm Powell are L.A.’s two scorers averaging above 20 points, but both are injured.

Golden State Warriors

The main issue for Golden State over these past five games, and really the past month, has been defence. The Warriors have allowed over 120 points in four straight games, and over 115 points in nine of their last 11. This was the case last night at Denver as the Warriors fell 131-124.

All of Steph Curry, Klay Thompson, and Andrew Wiggins sat out last night for rest. All three are expected to suit up versus the Clippers. Without Golden State’s top scorers in the lineup, Jordan Poole dropped a team-high 32 points while connecting on eight 3-pointers. Guard Moses Moody scored a season-high 30 in his seventh start this year.
