The Los Angeles Clippers freefall continues without Paul George and Kawhi Leonard missing from the lineup. They have lost six out of their last eight games, including an eight-point defeat against the Toronto Raptors in their last outing. They are going to need all the help that they can get against a Brooklyn Nets team that is primed to make a championship run. The Nets fell to the Philadelphia 76ers the other night but have still won six of their last eight, the complete opposite of Los Angeles. Can they keep their hot streak moving forward or will the Clippers get the best of them?

Clippers vs. Nets NBA Betting Odds

The Clippers haven’t fared well against the Nets lately, with a 4-17 ATS record in their last 21 overall matchups with Brooklyn. Los Angeles has lost their last six games against the spread when playing in the second game of a back-to-back. At least the under has been consistent for them, cashing out in five of their last six overall.

On the other hand, the Nets are 5-2 ATS in their past seven games when coming into the matchup on just one day of rest. However, they haven’t been great at home. With a 1-8 ATS record in their past nine home contests. The over has been consistent when they go up against the Clippers, with it cashing out in six of their last seven meetings.

Los Angeles Clippers

Just when you thought the Clippers couldn’t get any thinner in terms of their depth, more guys have been ruled out for this game. In addition to George, Leonard and Nicolas Batum, the Clippers have seen Ivica Zubac and Brandon Boston get ruled out. Depth has been a bit of a problem as of late, and these recent additions to the list certainly don’t help their case.

The only positive here is that Reggie Jackson has a possibility of getting on the floor for this game, a point guard that is desperately needed now that their best offensive weapons won’t be available. Luke Kennard and Terrance Mann will also carry a hefty offensive workload if they have any hopes of beating a stacked Brooklyn squad.

Brooklyn Nets

Unlike the Clippers, Brooklyn is relatively healthy entering into this game. Kyrie Irving is back with the team but isn’t expected to suit up for at least one more week. Kevin Durant continues his MVP-caliber season, averaging 29.9 points, 7.8 rebounds and 5.8 assists and doing everything to keep this team towards the top of the conference. James Harden has been a big support to Durant, averaging 22.4 points, 8.2 rebounds and 9.8 assists per game. Any time that a team has two MVP candidates on their roster at one point with solid bench depth, that team is a threat to knock off anybody that crosses them.

This simply comes down to Los Angeles missing their best players. Brooklyn should be able to cruise past them as long as they don’t get lazy.
