The Celtics dropped a 123-107 decision to Golden State on Saturday, snapping a three-game straight up win streak on the road, but maintain a league-best 10-4 record away from home this season. The Clippers return home after closing out a four-game road trip with Saturday’s 114-107 win in Washington, but have failed to tally consecutive victories during their current 2-4 run.

The Celtics have faded to 3.5-point favourites since opening at -4. The total has been on the decline since opening at 226.5, dipping to 224.5, with 55% of sports bettors backing the UNDER.

Celtics vs. Clippers NBA Betting Odds

Monday night’s matchup at Crypto.com Arena marks the first of two regular season meetings between these clubs. The Clippers swept last season’s two-game series with the Celtics, including a narrow 114-111 home victory as 1.5-point chalk, ending a three-game head-to-head slide, and improving to 11-6 straight up in 17 dates since February 2013. High scoring has been commonplace when these teams meet, with the OVER in nine of their past 11 clashes. The Clippers have earned the win in seven of their past nine home dates with Boston, including a lopsided 140-115 victory in their most recent date with the Celtics as home underdogs, three years ago.

Boston Celtics

The Celtics have rocketed to the top of the NBA standings during an impressive 17-3 run that features a steady 8-2 run on the road. The team has also produced consistent results for sports bettors, overcoming an early-season slump with 13 against the spread over their past 17 contests. The Boston attack has found its groove during the team’s current 20-game surge, averaging 121.8 points overall. However, they have seen their production drop off during the 3-1 start to their current road trip, tallying just 112.8 points per game. Jayson Tatum continues to lead the club with 30.0 points and 8.1 rebounds per game, but has seen his production dip this month. Tatum has averaged just 16 points per game in the team’s two defeats over their past five games, and has failed to reach the 20-point mark in three of his past seven road dates.

Los Angeles Clippers

The Clippers return home after closing out their recent road trip with a much-needed win over the Wizards. However, this club still has plenty of work to do to return to the consistent form that generated a 9-3 run in November. LA has won just four of 10 since seeing that surge end, a swoon marked by a steady rise in points allowed. The Clippers allowed just 103.9 points per game during last month’s 12-game surge, but have seen that number balloon to 114.3 points allowed per game while losing six of their past 10. Paul George saw steadily swung back into form in four appearances since returning from injury. The team’s leading scorer averaged just 15 points per game over the first two games of last week’s road trip, before closing out the junket with 32.5 points per game in his two most recent outings. Kawhi Leonard has yet to heat up since his return to action last week, averaging just 14.3 points per game in three outings, but contributing seven boards per game over that stretch.
