The NBA season is officially underway and on Saturday, we’ll get to see the reigning champions head out on the road to face the San Antonio Spurs. The Milwaukee Bucks have yet to win a game on the road this season, splitting a pair of contests to start – including a 42-point blowout loss at the Miami Heat. The Spurs were able to beat the Orlando Magic a few nights ago, so they are flying in with some wind to their backs.

Bucks vs. Spurs NBA Betting Odds

This hasn’t been a good matchup for Milwaukee as the Bucks have failed to cover six straight against the Spurs. Over is 4-1 in the last five meetings overall and 7-0 in the last seven meetings in San Antonio. Over is also 5-0 in the last five Spurs games and has cashed in four straight when the Spurs were a home dog. The trends do seem to point to a high-scoring affair.

Milwaukee Bucks

Giannis Antetokounmpo doesn’t look like someone who is resting on his laurels. He has been all over the floor for a team that badly needs his scoring and rebounding. The Bucks are coming off a horrific all-around effort as they were flattened by the Miami Heat. It’s the type of loss that starts to beg the question if there is some complacency on the team after winning a championship – even if Giannis isn’t showing it. Without a doubt, they will be looking to make a statement. They are allowing 120.5 points per game to their opponents, which is partially due to the fact that P.J. Tucker left during the offseason. He was one of their best defenders.

Milwaukee has to get its rotations right. We know Giannis will step up and show out regardless of the circumstances, but the rest of the team needs to contribute more.

San Antonio Spurs

The Spurs are an interesting team, with some incredibly young players with high ceilings starting to get some valuable minutes. Devin Vassell is one of those guys and he had 19 points and five assists the other night. Lonnie Walker IV added on 17 points of his own with Derrick White dropping in 16. They are hungry and looking to prove themselves, and the champs coming to town is the ideal opportunity. What’s even better for them is that they just held their opponent to 97 points a few days ago and hope to put up a similar wall against Giannis and the Bucks. Expect a flurry of young players to step in and be tasked with creating good looks offensively for San Antonio in this game.
