The Milwaukee Bucks are expected to get a major lineup boost Monday night as Giannis Antetokounmpo and Khris Middleton are both probable to return when they visit the Detroit Pistons. Antetokounmpo (knee) has been out since January 11 and Middleton (knee) December 15.

The Bucks went 2-3 with both out of the lineup these past 12 days, but are still third in the East at 29-17. Detroit meanwhile remains in last place at 12-36. Monday’s the final game of a five-game homestand for the Pistons, which started with a 17-point victory but has been followed by three straight losses.

Tip-off at Little Caesars Arena starts at 7 p.m. EST. The Bucks are an 11.5-point favourite on the road with the total at 228.5 on the NBA odds.

Bucks vs. Pistons NBA Betting Odds

It’s been all Bucks when these clubs get together, with Milwaukee winning 19 of the last 20 matchups including nine straight trips to Detroit. The Bucks have also covered in 14 of their last 18 against Detroit. Milwaukee’s 2-0 against the Pistons this season; both wins came back-to-back starting with a two-point victory on October 31 and 25-point win two days later.

All six of Milwaukee’s last six on the road have finished under the total, and the under is 17-6 in the Bucks 23 road games this year. Six of the last seven Bucks–Pistons meetings have gone under too.

Milwaukee Bucks

In their five games without Antetokounmpo, Milwaukee either scored fewer than 102 points or put up at least 130. All three outings with fewer than 102 were losses, and the 130-point outings were both wins. And with these vast ranges of scoring, the lower totals have been more common this season for a Bucks squad that’s 23rd in points with 112.4 per game. Milwaukee’s also 25th with a 45.6 shooting percentage from the field.

Having Antetokounmpo and Middleton presumably back should provide a huge spark to the team’s offence as the duo both averaged over 20 points a game each last season, and Antetokounmpo is currently scoring 31 points per game this year.

Detroit Pistons

Detroit’s had a hard time keeping the ball out of their net throughout January, allowing a minimum of 116 points in their nine outings this month. Pistons opponents have reached 125 points four times and as a result Detroit is now second-last in the NBA with 119.6 points allowed per game.

Detroit’s failed to go over 110 points during their three-game skid too. Forward Bojan Bogdanovic has led the club in scoring in two of their last three games, including a 25-point night the last time Detroit took the court. Bogdanovic leads Detroit with 21.3 points per game.
