Milwaukee just recently snapped their two-game losing streak by picking up a win over the Philadelphia 76ers on Thursday. The Hawks have won 10 out of their last 13 contests overall. However, Trae Young is now out, which changes the dynamic of their team.

This game is bound to be entertaining throughout, but who has the upper hand coming into this one?

NBA Point Spread and Betting Analysis

The over is 20-9 in the Bucks last 29 games at home and that could improve once again here. Milwaukee is a team that loves to put up a lot of points with quick offense and fast break opportunities. They could benefit if the Hawks are without their starting center as well, making for a nice opportunity for big points.

On the other hand, the Hawks are 4-1 ATS in their past five games at home. They are going to have a tough time without a number of players available for this contest but have a good chance to keep it close. But once again, if they aren’t able to come in prepared defensively then it may not be that competitive.

Milwaukee Bucks

The Bucks offense has been stellar this year behind their trio of stars on the roster. Giannis Antetokounmpo has been the leader of the pack this year, posting 28.5 points, 11.3 rebounds and six assists per game for Milwaukee while positioning himself in the MVP race. Khris Middleton and Jrue Holiday have each pitched in as well. The latter has averaged 20.3 and 17.2 points per game. Not to mention the fact that all three of those guys have above average defensive abilities that make it hard to score when they are all out there at the same time.

This Bucks team has had their fair share of rough stretches this year but when they are healthy and ready to play, they are incredibly difficult to beat. Watch for Giannis to have a huge night if he is ready to suit up for this contest.

Atlanta Hawks

Despite winning consistently, the team is facing a number of injuries across their roster that could definitely hurt them in this contest. Trae Young has been ruled out for this game because of his ankle sprain that he suffered a few days ago. He was the leader of their offense before going down, averaging 25.3 points, 3.9 rebounds and 9.6 assists per game. Clint Capela hasn’t been ruled out but is questionable. His loss would not only add another hit to their offense, but their defense will take a large step back – especially against Giannis and Milwaukee.

It seems as if the Hawks will be planning to run their offense through John Collins and Bogdan Bogdanovic in this matchup, each of whom has been good in their respective roles on this roster. They have proven that they can win without Young and Capela before, but it will be a lot harder in this game against the reigning MVP and company.
