The victory was their 14th in their last 18, making them one of the hottest in the NBA. Now they’ll travel to face off with the Los Angeles Lakers on Sunday. After ripping off five straight wins, the Lakers have lost two straight. Will they be able to get back into the win column against a red-hot Philadelphia squad?

76ers vs. Lakers NBA Betting Odds

The 76ers are currently 1-6 ATS in their past seven games played on the road against a team with a winning home record. However, they have covered four of five against the Lakers and seven straight on a Sunday. When it comes to the total, the over is 7-1 in their last eight road games played.

The Lakers are 1-3-1 ATS in their last five games when going up against teams with a winning percentage over .600 on the season but are 5-2 ATS in their last seven overall. As for the total, the over has hit in 13 of their last 16 games when following a straight-up loss.

Philadelphia 76ers

Philadelphia has a roster that could genuinely be capable of winning the NBA Championship in a few months. Led by Joel Embiid, the center is putting up MVP numbers. He’s accompanied by a great cast of supporters and when they’re on, the 76ers are a tough beat. Embiid is currently averaging 33.4 points, 9.8 rebounds, and 4.3 assists per game this season. He’s cementing himself as one of the most dominant players in his position by a long shot.

Having James Harden back him up makes them even scarier. Harden is putting up 22.2 points and 11.1 assists per game. Tyrese Maxey is averaging 21.0 points as well to solidify their backcourt. Having this much production from their backcourt while dominating the paint with Embiid is the perfect storm for Philadelphia.

Los Angeles Lakers

The Lakers are going to be missing an awful lot of talent across their roster moving into this game. Lonnie Walker and Austin Reaves are out, Anthony Davis also remains out (with a foot injury), and now Patrick Beverley and LeBron James are listed as day-to-day. James is expected to play this game but if he doesn’t get out there, the Lakers are likely cooked.

LeBron is averaging 29.0 points, 8.4 rebounds, and 6.8 assists per game this year, and doing it at his age is simply incredible. Both he and Russell Westbrook have kept the Laker’s season alive after a horrendous start to the year. This looks like a tough spot as they’re shorthanded against one of the best teams in the league right now.
