Two minutes goes by pretty fast especially you’ve been knocking back those Mint Juleps and you’ve got money on the line. Make sure you have a decent TV to watch all the action. A big-screen is best, but as long as you have a clear picture and don’t have to keep adjusting rabbit ears, your guests will be happy. If your party is a casual one, serve sandwiches, potato salad, southern fried chicken and apple spice cupcakes. If the weather permits, bust out the BBQ and do a full southern spread complete with ribs, garlic cheese grits and corn on the cob.

The first jewel in the Triple Crown goes down on Saturday, May 1 at Churchill Downs with NBC’s coverage beginning at 5 p.m. ET. Do you have your money on Awesome Act or Ice Box?
