The NCAA Odds makers might not fancy the Hoosiers but D.J White will be giving it all he’s got to go far in his final NCAA Tournament
The 2008 Indiana Hoosiers will probably be remembered for one thing: Kelvin Sampson. Only a deep run in the NCAA Tournament can change that. Head coach Kelvin Sampson was bought out by Indiana mid-season after it was found that he had committed major recruiting violations. Dan Dakich took over the head coaching position for the rest of the season.
Dakich’s job for the rest of 2008 has been to continue to build upon an already strong foundation. The 2007 Hoosiers finished third in the Big Ten and advanced to the second round of the NCAA Tournament where they lost to UCLA. Three starters returned to the 2008 line-up, led by star forward D.J. White. The team continued to roll this year with another top three finish in the Big Ten.
D.J. White, a 6’9”, 250 lb senior, dominated in the regular season averaging a double-double. Also starring for the Hoosiers was freshman guard Eric Gordon. Gordon led the team and the Big Ten in scoring this year averaging over 20 points per game. The entire Hossiers offense is dangerous. When doing your college basketball over/under betting, it will be important to remember that Indiana had four starters averaging double digits in scoring and had the top offense in the Big Ten.
Indiana hopes to improve upon its 2007 Tournament performance with a run to the late rounds of the event. This is D.J. White’s final year in college and he would like it to end on a high note. He does not want to look back upon his final year in college and only remember the Sampson affair. The Hoosiers hopes are on his shoulders. There is one thing that will not defeat the Hoosiers this year. Adversity. They have faced plenty of that and met every challenge head on.
