The case of the 2010 robbery of the EPT Berlin Main Event can finally be put to rest, now that the Berlin District Court found Ibrahim al Moussa guilty of planning and execute the robbery, which earned him a whopping €242,000.
Al Moussa reportedly planned the heist, which took place at the Grand Hyatt Hotel in March of last year, and was also the getaway driver after four men raided the event. For his crimes, al Moussa was sentenced to six years and four months.
German police arrested six suspects not long after the robbery. While most of the suspects received an average of four years behind bars, there is one final suspect who needs to be dealt with. Like out of a casino movie, 32-year-old Mohammed Abou-Charka played in the poker tournament leaked information to the band of robbers on when to begin the attack after scouting the location.
Caught on camera, you can watch video footage of the heist - pretty scary stuff to say the least. The EPT had over 1,000 players but luckily, play resumed several hours after the robbery.
