Kentucky Derby and Preakness winner I’ll Have Another is suddenly out of the bid for the Triple Crown, as he was scratched today from Saturday’s Belmont Stakes because of a leg injury.

Now, oddsmakers are in a frenzy after it was announced that I’ll Have Another might have tendinitis in his left front leg, according to his trainer, Doug O’Neill

The Canadian 3-year-old colt had been a surprising 15-1 longshot winner for the Kentucky Derby, and then when he also took the Preakness, there was momentum that this horse would become the 12th horse to win the Triple Crown. Affirmed, in 1978, was the last to win the Triple Crown, meanwhile 19 horses have won the first two legs and lost the mile-and-a-half Belmont Stakes – most notably, Big Brown, who wound up coming in dead last at the Belmont in 2008.

I’ll Have Another was undefeated in four starts this year. In the Preakness he wore down his rival Bodemeister to win by a neck.

With I’ll Have Another officially out of the running, now who will win tomorrow’s Belmont Stakes? Sports Interaction has all your Belmont Stakes odds in their online sportsbook.
