In this economy, a job is hard to come by and no one knows that more than 25-year-old Advertising Account Manager, Ali Fedotowsky, who gave up true love with Bachelor Jake Pavelka to save her job on Facebook’s ad team. Jake all but begged her to stay but for Ali, a one in four shot at bagging the man of her dreams was not good enough odds to let her job slip through her fingers—so she bid the bachelor a tearful farewell, sobbing, “What haaaaave I done?” as the limo pulled away from the sombre-looking bachelor.
Earlier in this episode of The Bachelor, Jake embarks on the show’s standard hometown dates where he meets with the families of the final four women. Jake boards a plane destined for New York to visit Gia’s family; Williamstown, MA to meet Ali’s family; over to Newberg, Oregon to meet Tenley’s family; and finally to Florida to see Vienna and Co.
Hometown dates in a nutshell: In New York, Gia’s brother threatens to break Jake’s legs should their relationship go awry. In Massachusetts, Ali begins her hometown date by walking Jake through the house of her dead grandmother. In Oregon, Tenley’s mother sabotages her daughter by telling Jake “Tenley is going to have emotional spillovers for a while.” And over in Florida, Jake meets Vienna’s over-protective father, Vincent, who tells Jake that if he chooses Vienna, she will have the house clean and the kids raised right.
However, none of this means anything because in the end, Ali makes Jake’s choice for him and takes herself off the show. Jake’s remaining three choices are: 26-year-old swimsuit model Gia Allemand (once engaged to Twins/Yankee’s pitcher Carl Pavano), 25-year-old recently divorced Tenley Molzahn and 23-year-old “Daddy’s girl” Vienna Giradi. Next week, they all pile on a plane headed for St. Lucia where Jake will inevitably pull from his pocket the romantic little card which reads, “Should you forgoe your individual rooms, you can spend the night as a couple in the fantasy suite.” Yes, this little card gives Jake the green light to bed three women in just three nights because really, how can a bachelor choose between three women when he hasn’t introduced them to his one-eyed snake?
