The long arm of the law seems to follow Lindsay Lohan around wherever she goes. If there is such a thing as fate – then, it seems the flailing actress is destined to be in court… forever. After multiple strange twists and turns in her life that led to parole violations for a DUI that stemmed all the way back to 2007, probation which was later violated when she was convicted of shoplifting and was on probation for that offense as well, Lohan was finally free and clear to resume her life as an actress.
However, it seemed that forces beyond her control had it in for her once again. Lohan seemed to be back on track, filming a Lifetime TV movie in which she portrays Elizabeth Taylor. However, mere days into shooting, she crashed her rented Porsche on Pacific Coast Highway in Santa Monica into the back of an 18-wheeler.
Lohan was rushed to the emergency room last Friday afternoon, but returned to the set with cuts and bruises, covered for her by wily makeup artists. However, it seems that crashing into the back of the truck was not her only offence. Apparently, upon impact, Lindsay crawled across the console and both she and the passenger emerged from the passenger door. Lohan then told cops at the scene she was not the driver. Law enforcement sources told TMZ that Lohan lied to cops Friday by telling them she was NOT driving the Porsche, and as a result she could be prosecuted and her probation could be revoked.
Police are writing up a report that will include Lohan’s false account of the crash – and giving false info to a police officer could trigger a probation violation in her shoplifting case, which means she faces the possibility of jail… for the upteenth time.
As for her stint in the Liz and Dick Lifetime flick, this is a big role for the actress – who is trying to prove that she can hold down a job and not be a liability.
“We all think she looks amazing as Elizabeth Taylor,” Liz and Dick producer Larry A. Thompson said. “Of course she’s nervous, but she wants to prove everything wrong with this one… she is working hard and not a diva at all.”
