If you don’t know who Kristin Cavallari is, then you don’t know much about bad reality television. Cavallari was amongst the cast of The Hills, where she openly fawned over her “friend” Brody Jenner while looking for love in all the wrong places.
Cavallari herself was often the source of superficial smack talk, drunken cat fights and was often filmed binge drinking at all the Hollywood hotspots. However, all this ugliness was wrapped in a beautiful package and therefore, Kristin was also the source of the men’s desires as well as the target of womens’ jealousy.
But was Cavallari really a mean-spirited drunk? On the series finale of The Hills, after suffering continual rejection from Jenner, Cavallari decided to take off to Europe – and as they say their good-byes, the so-called “reality show” backdrop was revealed to be a sound stage. So perhaps Cavallari was playing a part. Perhaps her slurred insults at various nemesis was all scripted. Perhaps she is not all that bad. She did find love at the hands of 28-year-old NFL Chicago Bears quarterback Jay Cutler. But now, it seems, the romance is over.
“I am so happy and currently planning my wedding,” Cavallari, 24, said just last week after walking down a Miami Beach runway modeling a glass bikini designed by Diesel and inspired by the blue SKYY Vodka bottle.
She also tweeted after their engagement party last Saturday, “Thx to all my amazing friends for making my engagement party a blast last night.”
However, things went sour fast between Cavallari and Cutler, who have been dating for about ten months and engaged for three.
Today, Cutler took to his Facebook page, deleted the profile photo of him and Kristin and replaced it with one of him and his sister. He changed his status to “single” and wrote, “Thank you all for the support, but if you talk bad about Kristin I will delete and block you.”
According to one insider who told Us magazine, Cavallari was blindsided by the split. “Jay dumped her out of nowhere.”
Notorious on the party scene, some of Kristin’s friends say that Cutler tried to put his fiance on a tight leash, which was causing problems in their relationship.
“Jay Cutler was beyond controlling and didn’t really like Kristin to go out,” the friend told People. “When she did go out, he called all the time and demanded to know exactly where she was going and who she was with.”
The friend also notes, “He made her choose between him and being friends with a lot of her girlfriends. I’m not surprised it didn’t last.”
Although Cavallari is reportedly devastated by the split, she was able to find solace at a West Hollywood hotspot The Beverly Lounge, sans her 5.2 carat engagement ring.
