Oh, Dave. How could you? After over a quarter of a century as the King of Late Night and the natural heir to Johnny Carson, it turns out that David Letterman’s Worldwide Pants have spent a lot of time around his ankles.
While Letterman himself considers his (favorite) position, Sports Interaction has been busy setting celebrity odds on who exactly it is that has been getting some of that Letterman lovin’ down through the years.
Hollywood royalty Drew Barrymore famously flashed Letterman on a 1995 appearance on the show – did Dave like what he saw and get her to a stupid guest trick? How long has this been going on?
Do talk show hosts need to be held? Dave’s fellow talking heads Bonnie Hunt, Rosie O’Donnell, Kathie Lee Gifford, Oprah Winfrey and Ellen Degeneres all have odds quoted by Sports Interaction on whether or not they got down with the Dave, either singly or as a group. Letterman yellin’ with Ellen would be a surprise given Ellen’s stated preference but then, nobody suspected any of this either. All bets are on.
Most amazingly of all, could Letterman’s ongoing sniping at Sarah Palin just be shy Dave’s way of saying: hey, I like you? Sports Interaction is quoting 500/1 that somewhere, sometime, in a penthouse suite overlooking the neon lights of Broadway or a seedy motel exactly halfway between Wahoo, Nebraska and Wasilla, Alaska, David Letterman dropped his Worldwide Pants to bump bones with the Barracuda herself.
